AEROSOL PROMOTION
COUNCIL has been incorporated as a Limited Company under Section 25 of
the Companies Act 1956.
AEROSOL PROMOTION COUNCIL popularly known as APC was set up in 1984,
with an objective to promote Aerosols as a popular packing option. Now
in its 18th year of operation, APC has been actively involved in
promoting the Indian Aerosol Industry to a global audience.
We are having Patron Members, Sustaining Members, Ordinary Members and
Honorary Members in our Council.

OBJECTIVES
The main objectives of the council include:

- To create greater awareness of
the availability and advantages of Aerosol packing.
- To induce companies specializing
in marketing to introduce Aerosols packs.
- To encourage and bring out a
feeling of friendship and co-operation amongst persons connected
with the Aerosol Industry. This would facilitate co-ordinate
action in:

Identifying and developing potential markets

Encouraging indigenisation.

Developing technology to generally improve the sate of art of
this industry.

Removing impediments to growth.
- To study and where necessary
introduce schemes for standardization of products, to lay down
specifications and suggest measures to maintain quality control
and promote wider use of Aerosols.

In order to attain the above
objectives, the actions taken by the Council include:

Conducting and
participating in Seminars, Workshops and exhibitions

Gathering and
dissemination of information giving global and local trends,
Consumer profiles and market potentials.

Informing
potential users the possible applications, advantages and cost
Efficiencies of Aerosol Packs.

Interacting with
other associations, Government body and institutions.
Assisting individual members to overcome specific difficulties
being faced by them.

To include
maximum participation of those connected with the Aerosol
Industry to ensure forceful and concerted action for the benefit
of society and industry.

To arrange
interaction of our industry members with international
Technicians experts.

Disseminate
information related to Montreal Protocol and development of
alternate propellants in the International market.

WHY APC ?
The Aerosol Market in
India, though small is highly diversified and growing at a very rapid
rate Thanks to the liberalization policy and entry of a number of
Multinationals in the country. The majority of the Aerosol filling
companies and their suppliers of various components are the Members of
the Council.
With more than 100 active members, APC offers its members an
interactive forum, for discussions, addressing member's grievances and
an opportunity to innovate by bringing in the best in the industry
worldwide through seminars and lectures.

ACHIEVEMENTS
APC has played a vital
role in the UNDP program for phasing out of Ozone depleting
substances, with the result that today, except the Pharma Industry,
all other Aerosol products are with Hydrocarbons. Thereby, playing a
crucial role in saving the earth from the warming effect.
With our regular follow with MOEF - Ozone Cell, most of the major
projects have been approved for grant under Multilateral Fund of
Montreal Protocol. Our Council have recommended names of Aerosol
Fillers for implementation of Aerosol Demonstration project to the
Ministry of Environment and Forest, Ozone Cell. Accordingly their
names have been approved and the project has been implemented.
Regarding availability of LPG for Aerosol Industry and safe handling
of the same our Council have arranged a meeting with BPCL and many
members participated in the Meeting.
Our Council is also following up with Ministry of Environment and
Forests for early availability of HAP an alternate to CFC-11/12.
